3:49Now PlayingThroughout his presidential campaign, former vice president Joe Biden has failed to address criticisms for his track record on immigration, specifically during President Obama's administration, throughout which more than 3 million immigrants were deported. At Thursday’s Democratic debate, moderator Jorge Ramos of Univision asked Biden if he had done anything to prevent the record-high number of deportations during the Obama administration. Cesar Espinosa felt “disheartened” by Biden’s lack of a response to the Obama administration’s treatment of immigrants. Espinosa, executive director of immigrant rights organization FIEL Houston, feels it is important to continue raising the issue with Biden until it is fully addressed. “Our fear is if he does win the nomination, if he does make it into the White House, there will be more of the same thing,” says Espinosa. “We want to see more transparency.”
