In an interview with Rachel Maddow shortly after her departure from the 2020 race, Warren accused Bernie Sanders's supporters of engaging in "organized nastiness" online. Racist and sexist attacks should be condemned and fought against, says RootsAction.org co-founder and national coordinator Norman Solomon, but must also be seen in the context of a broader assault on Sanders by corporate media and part of "a pattern of bias against Bernie Sanders that shouldn’t be a surprise, but should outrage us." Amid the varied smears against Sanders, Warren's promise to "stay in the fight" beyond her presidential campaign must include a clear articulation of what kind of policies she's pushing for, he says. "If that fight is to affirm the human rights of all human beings, how can she stay neutral?" Solomon says. "Every day goes by and Elizabeth Warren fails to endorse Bernie Sanders … is a de facto assistance to corporate power, to corporate America and Joe Biden."
