Prosecutors said García Luna accepted millions in bribes from the very criminal groups he was meant to be fighting, including the infamous Sinaloa Cartel formerly led by Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán. García Luna faces up to life in prison and is the most high-ranking Mexican official ever tried in the U.S. For more, we speak with award-winning journalists Peniley Ramírez and Maria Hinojosa, co-hosts of Futuro Media's podcast _USA v. García Luna_. They say the case exposes how corrupt the so-called war on drugs has been on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. "The U.S. government, the DEA, the entire security apparatus failed here," says Hinojosa.
