Democrats have centered reproductive rights throughout the week at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, with speakers discussing their abortions, how new restrictions have put women's lives at risk and why bodily autonomy is nonnegotiable. Vice President Kamala Harris has promised to restore reproductive rights after the Supreme Court overturned _Roe v. Wade_ in 2022. Law professor Michele Goodwin describes the fight for reproductive rights as "a tipping point for our democracy" and says Republicans cannot simply walk away from their record on the issue.
