Renowned Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi was a high school student when he joined protests against the Shah in the late 1970s. He says what the population wanted "was freedom," but the revolution was hijacked by "the clerical class" that had its own priorities. Now, 47 years later, the country is experiencing a new wave of protest.
