Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Trial - Why I'm going to Delphi to watch this trial

I haven't talked about this case before on my channel, but it's one that I've been watching for some time with increasing alarm as the process has unfolded. The adversarial system of justice we practice in the U.S. is supposed to promote the truth-finding process by allowing both sides to present their best evidence and challenge the other's case, enabling the jury to have the fullest picture from which to decide if the criminal accusation is true. So when guilt is presumed, and the accused is not allowed to defend himself, it calls into question whether the trial can fulfill its function and provide closure and vindication to the victims.

This video is intended for those of you who may not be very familiar with the case, to share with you why it has troubled me enough to take six weeks of my life to try to go sit in a small courtroom in rural Indiana to watch (and report on) what unfolds.
