Charles Schwab has announced that it's going ZERO commission which means free stock trading for all its customers. This is potentially game changing! As a result, other brokerages like ETrade and TD Ameritrade have also dropped their fees for buying and selling stocks.
As a dividend investor, I prioritize simplicity and solid reporting on dividend paying stocks. While there are a lot of stock market apps out there that allow for free stock trading, many of them have carved out a very specific niche such as M1 Finance which is great for automation (especially with Roth IRA retirement accounts), WeBull (for day trading and options).
Robinhood is left chasing the whole thing without one specific focus. Can Robinhood survive amidst the competition? Today I go in depth with my robinhood review for 2019, and see where we are as it relates to this huge announcement.
