This is everything you need to know about AMC stock, Wall Street vs Hedge Funds vs Apes with Matt Kohrs. Matt Kohrs was a data scientist prior to quitting his job to do YouTube full time, today he explains exactly what is going on in the stock market and what is about to happen with AMC stock. The short squeeze will be very similar to what happened with Game Stop in January of this year.
Here are some questions I asked Matt:
1. AMC vs Apes vs Wall Street - what is the narrative? Who is battling against who? It's a classic story of David vs Goliath except in this story there are 3 Goliaths. The retail investor, the hedge funds shorting AMC and other hedge funds pushing the price of AMC up.
2. What is the mentality of the people investing in the stock? Is it just diamond hands all the way? The stock's fundamentals as far as profits are not important in the short term, what is important is the short interest that wall street has taken out to try to push the stock down.
3. What is happening on Wednesday June 2nd? There are two major events that will happen with AMC - voting for shareholders where they will be able to decide what to do next with the company and a recount of shares. This is very important.
4. Why are hedge funds so stubborn that they continue to short the stock? There are 3.2 million retail investors investing in this stock and just under 90% of the shares outstanding belong to retail which is something like 11 billion dollars. The other 10% are the hedge funds trying to manipulate the market. Why are hedge funds shorting?
5. Ape talk with terminology and definitions.
6. What is the price target? Is AMC going to $100k? Is it going to $500,000 per share? That would be exciting because there is a stock worth over $100,000 - Berkshire Hathaway but it also has a lot less shares in the market but for AMC to get to $100,000 per share, the market cap of AMC would have to be 50 trillion dollars which is also 2.5x the total US yearly GDP or the size of the entire value of the US stock market combined. It's no impossible - but highly improbable.
7. Is this worth investing in the long term or has this train left and have investors missed out on the big gains?
Enjoy!
