The story behind the story: Jim Neil and Charmaine McGuffey have known each other for decades. He made her the first woman major in the history of the office. Then, a hostile work environment complaint was sustained against her. Neil offered her another job but she sued claiming she was removed because she is a woman and a lesbian. Major Earl Price worked under McGuffey for 17 years and says she should never be sheriff. McGuffey says it's a witch hunt.
