as posted by the channelMidterm elections in 2018 saw quite a few new Congressional representatives elected, particularly in the House where Democrats have taken control. A few notable new members have already made themselves noticed including Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC).
Tlaib gave a short speech to some supporters upon her DC arrival in which she said “we’re gonna impeach the mother-f’er” in reference to Donald Trump, after which she received a ton of applause. AOC went on 60 minutes speaking to Anderson Cooper about her “New Green Deal” which is essentially Communism presented by a young, innocent face.
Mainstream media made its presence known here as well, apparently making up lies about a college dance video from AOC. The video is of her dancing on a rooftop in a sort of goofy way during college with friends. It was obviously produced well and meant to be shared.
Several outlets, including Huffington Post, classified the presence of the video as a “leak” meant to “smear” AOC. In reality, the video has been out for many weeks, if not months… and nobody really cares. Especially in today’s day and age of a desensitized nation.
Articles of impeachment were filed by California House Rep Brad Sherman again this year, just as they were last year. With all this talk of impeachment, nothing has really come of it then or now. Nancy Pelosi has become speaker of the House to no one’s surprise.
Speaking of the House, they passed a government funding bill with no border wall funds, which obviously will hit a stonewall in the Senate so they will not waste their time in reviewing it. Great way to start off 2019, with feckless leadership and action within the House of Representatives under Democrat control.
