as posted by the channelThe Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that the Trump administration’s ban on transgender Americans serving in the military will go into effect immediately while still being challenged in lower courts. It is not a definitive decision, it just removes any blockages or injunctions on the ban. If the ban is rejected in lower courts, it may find it’s way to the Supreme Court for a final and definitive decision. At which point the initial ban my be upheld due to the 5-4 conservative-liberal balance currently in SCOUTS.
An important fact to mention is that this ban is not for all people who identify as transgender. It only applies to those who have gender dysphoria and those who do not identify as their birth gender. One can only assume that gender dysphoria is a condition that servicemen and women would claim to get a sex change free of charge from the US military, which has already happened. If it is to be identified as a medical and/or mental condition, it would fall under conditions that would preclude a person from joining or serving in the military such as diabetes and hepatitis.
