The jury reached the verdict in Guyger's high-profile trial after six days of witness testimony, but just a handful of hours of deliberation.
Reactions to the guilty verdict have ran the gamut, from elation to caution to confusion. Some say she should have been found guilty of murder, others say that the entire thing was a mistake and that a manslaughter charge would be more appropriate. One thing for sure is that the race element, Guyger being white and Jean being black, cannot be ignored here and plays the key element in the case.
