10:19Now PlayingTexas Death Row inmate Rodney Reed has many celebrites clamoring for the chance to either have him released from prision or at least to stop his pending execution.
Mnay say Reed is innocent of a 1996 crime he was convicted of over 20 years ago, the rape and murder of a 19 year old woman by the name of Stacey Stites.
There may be some circumstantial evidence that he is innocent, including the fact that her then-fiance raped and murdered someone later in life while on duty as a police officer. There is also information that Reed and Stites had an affair behind Fennell's back and Fennell killed Stites over that.
None of that truly matters because Rodney Reed was seen as a serial rapist with his DNA found in 6 or so other open rape cases, including that of a 12-year-old girl. Even if he is innocent of the banner crime, he is most likely not innocent of other crimns that most likely enhanced the penalty of the other crimes. This is why there should be no petitioning for his release or stay of execution - at all.
