'If anyone speaks in a tongue (releasing a word from God to the whole church) someone must interpret. But if there is no interpreter, he/she should remain silent in the church (not get up in front of everyone and speak to them) & speak ONLY TO HIMSELF & GOD (pray to God with understanding and in spirit)!' 1 Corinthians 14:27-28
In a church service, during the message it is appropriate to be quiet and listen so that you can receive the word of God (and not be distracting to others.) But during worship and during ministry time, as miracles are taking place, you should be worshipping God and praying. Do this in spirit and in truth! Engage in intimacy with God during these times at church (with includes praying in tongues), so that as your eyes are focused on Him and you are worshipping Him, He can pour out more of His spirit on you.
