Imagine the narrative that would be going around when news spread that one of the 12 closest disciples and the one in charge of finances left Jesus and turned him into the authorities. “He must be guilty. He must be false like people are saying. The rumors about Jesus must be true,” could’ve been some of the thoughts and words that were going around after hearing of what Judas did. As there was a Judas in the time of Jesus, there are Judas’s of today as well. It’s important as a believer to be aware of this reality, so you won’t be deceived by thoughts the enemy may try to plant through the actions of a present day “Judas.” It’s also important to know how a “Judas” comes to be, so you don’t become one (no one should be so prideful to think that they’re automatically immune to becoming a Judas).
