as posted by the channelOne reason believers should not participate in Halloween is because, at its core, the theme and message of Halloween are darkness: fear, horror, death, witchcraft.
Even if you are out trick-or-treating or at a Halloween party, you are surrounded by images of darkness, and that will have a negative effect on you spiritually.
When you are diligent to obey God and not purposely put yourself in places where there are images of darkness, God’s grace covers you. So you shouldn’t be afraid of your eyes seeing a dark image, since that is inevitable in the world we live in. But you should never put yourself in a place where there are many dark images, such as watching a horror film, going to a haunted house, or participating in Halloween.
Above all, believers shouldn’t participate in Halloween because to participate in it is like attending a devil’s party, since the origin, themes, and messaging are that of the enemy: darkness, fear, death, and witchcraft.
The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
