The solution was magnetic confinement. Magnetic fields trap electrons while letting heavier ions pass through, creating the potential well without physical barriers. Electrons recirculate and ions fall into the well, oscillate through the core, and collide repeatedly without loss.
Non-equilibrium plasma makes it work. Standard plasma spreads particle energy across a Maxwell distribution where only a tiny fraction is fusion-ready. Non-equilibrium systems keep specific particles at exact reaction energy, maximizing collision probability in the core.
Geometry is critical. Toroidal designs cause plasma wall contact. Spherical configurations with point cusps allow controlled escape without damage. When magnetic pressure equals plasma kinetic pressure, the system self-regulates. Escape routes shrink as you increase field strength, trapping electrons tighter without containment failure.
MH370 thermal footage shows a stable, uniform hotspot inside the spherical field. That's non-equilibrium plasma at controlled energy state. Equilibrium plasma wouldn't produce distinct thermal zones.
