Tibetans shave their heads in New Delhi in protest against China’s ethnic unity law

Hundreds of Tibetan exiles organised a protest in New Delhi against China’s ethnic unity and progress law that has been widely criticized as a way to further erode the rights of Tibetans and other minorities as authorities cement a push toward assimilation. Prayers were also held for the Tibetan exile Lobsang Palden, who set himself on fire and died last month outside the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
