Emory University scientists wrapped up collecting samples of residents’ blood in Rome and Calhoun as part of an exposure study. Clinicians collected blood samples from nearly 200 people, split between the two cities. The tests came after a series of Atlanta News First investigations showing the levels of cancer-causing toxins that have polluted local drinking water supplies.
