First Alert Forecast+: Severe threat over for tonight, another chance for severe storms tomorrow

After 9 p.m., the severe threat will diminish for our area, but that doesn’t mean the storms will be over. Another round of showers and storms are possible across North Georgia from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. While the overall severe threat is decreasing after sunset, it is still possible an isolated storm may become strong to severe; again with the main threat being damaging winds.

Monday will bring more widespread storms in the afternoon and evening with isolated severe storms possible. The Severe Prediction Center has already raised the severe threat level for North Georgia to a level 2 out of 5 risk. While scattered showers and storms will be the main threat during the afternoon. Some models are indicated a more organized line of storms may also move through during the evening hours.
