1:36Now PlayingA new report from safety advocacy group Propel Atlanta says that there were more traffic deaths reported in metro Atlanta than homicides in 2024.
The report claims there were 425 people killed on the roadways in 2024 in metro Atlanta’s five core counties, compared to 410 homicide victims.
The report also shows that 138 of these deaths were cyclists or pedestrians, 3.8% higher than in 2023.
Deepa Sood knows firsthand the tragedy of traffic fatalities in metro Atlanta. Her husband Pradeep was killed while crossing Peachtree Street back in February, just blocks away from their showroom at America’s Mart.
