Adriana Smith, 30, was nine weeks pregnant when she experienced a medical emergency and was declared brain dead on Feb. 19.
Smith was placed on life support until her son Chance’s birth four months later to comply with Georgia’s abortion law.
Once born, the child’s father, Adrian Harden, had to posthumously sue Smith to establish his parental rights.
