as posted by the channelThe man convicted in connection with the 2001 cold case of a University of Georgia law student’s death is being sentenced.
Edrick Faust was found guilty on all 12 counts he was facing in Tara Baker’s death, including murder, aggravated sodomy and arson.
Faust stood trial for two weeks, and the jury took a little over a day to reach a verdict.
In January 2001, Baker, a 23-year-old UGA law student, was killed in her apartment in Athens. Arrest warrants state Baker was killed sometime between 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 18 and 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 19, 2001. She was subjected to strangulation with an instrument, a knife wound to the neck, blunt force trauma to her head and sexual assault.
The case remained unsolved for over 23 years.
