Georgia House lawmakers have included $2 million in the state budget to join the SUN Bucks program, which would unlock $143 million in federal grocery benefits, providing $120 per eligible child over the summer. More than 1.1 million Georgia kids could qualify.
The budget still needs to clear the Senate and be signed by Gov. Kemp, who previously opted the state out of the program.
