22:30Now PlayingGeorgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones dismissed criticism over fundraising tactics and cast businessman Rick Jackson as the force behind anonymous attack ads, as the two Republicans clash in an increasingly contentious race for governor.
In an interview on Atlanta News First’s On the Record and Political Reporter Doug Reardon, Jones said he was not surprised Jackson entered the race late, arguing he had been targeted by what he described as a “dark money” group since Thanksgiving. Jones said he believes Jackson is behind the ads, pointing to the scale of spending.
“When you look at almost $20 million have been spent, I don’t know who else it would be,” Jones said.
