2:17Now PlayingAfter nearly 20 years behind bars, Damien Hill is now a Spalding County firefighter, and the first former inmate from the Spalding County Correctional Institution to earn the job.
Hill spent the last three years of his sentence training as a firefighter through a Department of Corrections program, and was hired by the department after his release in October.
"Don't come out looking for a hand-out, come out giving a hand, and that's what I did," Hill said.
