His attorney, Alex Cornejo, says returning Rios to Honduras would be "the equivalent to a death sentence," citing his father's alleged ties to the MS-13 gang.
Cornejo has filed a motion to reopen Rios's 2015 asylum case as a final hope to keep him in the country.
