2:04Now PlayingA new study shows that a $10 million construction project on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW in Atlanta is saving lives.
In the six months before the project began, four people were killed on the corridor. Since construction wrapped up in 2022, that number has dropped to zero. The project also brought a 23% reduction in roadway crashes and a 56% reduction in pedestrian crashes.
A similar project is now planned for Ralph D. Abernathy and Georgia Avenue, set to begin this fall.
