Construction on the first phase began May 18 and is expected to finish by Labor Day, with improvements to trails, a dedicated radio-controlled airfield and additional parking.
Phase two, which the county just received the right to name Michelle Obama Park, will bring a splash pad, playground and athletic facilities. Some residents have raised concerns about tree removal and trail materials.
