1:39Now PlayingCorey Armstrong is speaking publicly for the first time about the viral dog attack that left him with serious injuries to both hands.
"Everything went black. I was in shock. I couldn't believe this was happening to me at that moment," Armstrong said. He has since undergone surgery, including having a finger that was torn off reattached.
Armstrong says the emotional impact has been just as significant. "Driving into the neighborhood, it's a completely different feeling now," he said.
The dog believed to be responsible is currently in quarantine with Gwinnett County Animal Control.
