Now animal advocates are raising questions about whether proper euthanasia protocols were followed, pointing to surveillance footage and a missing page from the shelter's drug logs.
Clayton County Animal Control says all protocols and veterinary standards were followed.
"He was like a son to me," said K-9 handler Sgt. Ronda Johnson. "That's not the same Kona I know."
