The Atlanta VA is one of 18 sites in a nationwide clinical trial tracking more than 600 veterans over 24 weeks. The thinking is that the drug targets the brain's reward centers, which may help curb addictive behaviors. More than 400,000 veterans nationwide are affected by alcohol use disorder, according to the VA.
