Blaze was told he was going on a surprise birthday trip with his mom and sister Abi, and they flew from Phoenix to Boise, Idaho, on Monday, October 23, where they were picked up by his uncle, who is Spring's brother. Abi's husband, Brayden, alerted Blaze's father, Ben Thibaudeau as to the real reason for the trip: Spring, Brooke & Abi believed the end of days was imminent, and that "They see [Blaze] as a Davidic servant (chosen individual) who plays a significant role in the Savior's return. They feel they needed to take him to an undisclosed location where he would receive his calling and understand his role in the Second Coming." (#eastidahonews) The trio had purchased thousands of dollars in survival equipment and food in preparation for the trip. The Gilbert Police Department tweeted Friday night: "The Gilbert Police Department and FBI Phoenix

announce tonight that 16-year-old Blaze Thibaudeau has been located safe by US Customs and Border Protection agents at the Alcan Port of Entry along the eastern Alaska border."

Spring and Brooke were arrested by Alaskan State Troopers on valid full extradition warrants and charged with felony conspiracy to commit custodial interference and felony custodial interference.
