MA v Dr. Ingolf (Harry) Tuerk in Norfolk Superior Court, Dedham, Massachusetts

On April 10, 2025 a Norfolk County jury convicted Tuerk of voluntary manslaughter after 5 hours of deliberation. The jury was charged to choose between 1st degree M*rder, 2nd degree M*rder, Voluntary Manslaughter and of course (at least in front of Judge Hallal) Not Guilty.

It was announced in Openings that the Defendant will testify. Reddington will try to convince the jury that the homicide was not premeditated, but committed in self defense, or heat of passion, and thus he should be entitled to a lesser manslaughter charge.

Defendant Dr. Ingolf Tuerk (aka "Harry") is a prominent Dover surgeon on trial in Norfolk County, Massachusetts who is charged with 1st degree m*rder in the 2020 death of his wife, 45 year old Katie McLean, mother of 3. Tuerk allegedly confessed to ch*king his wife to death after an argument, according to the criminal complaint.

Tuerk was a renowned urologist who specializes in robotic surgery and was once featured on a hospital's billboard in Boston, but he was charged in 2019 with medical billing fraud by Attorney General Maura Healey. The case was settled, but he was terminated by the hospital in early 2020.

The trial had been assigned to Judge Beverly Cannone, but has recently been transferred to another Judge (Mark Hallal). Many of the same players from the Karen Read case are involved with this case, including MSP Troopers Michael Proctor, Bukhenik, Tully, Fanning, Guarino, Dicicco & others. Attorney Kevin Reddington, who also represented Jennifer McCabe in the Read case, is representing Dr. Tuerk.
