Barton Springs Pool is always a reliable source for a cooling dip on a hot summer day, but is it really a steady 68 degrees year-round? It has been a long-held belief that the spring-fed pool is 68 degrees, no matter the weather, but on Wednesday the average temperature across three points in the pool tested by City of Austin Hydrologist David Johns and intern Walker Stone was 72.4 degrees.
