A memorial of flowers and cards decorated the sign of Children's Medical Group in Central Austin after its pediatrician, Dr. Lindley Dodson, was shot and killed by Dr. Bharat Narumanchi before he shot himself in a six-hour long hostage standoff on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2020. Friends of Dr. Dodson, medical workers and families of Dodson's patients visited the site to grieve and pay respects. "It's an incredible sense of loss that we are feeling," said Susan Murphy, a friend of Dodson. "I can't even articulate the ripples this is going to have and the lives that are going to be affected."
