Among them were Ray Chester, an attorney for the Mitte Foundation, and Andrew Wicker, a former personal assistant to the attorney general, Blake Brickman, deputy attorney general for policy and strategy initiatives.
Laura Olson was named as a witness at the start of the day but by the afternoon, Dan Patrick, serving as judge, announced that she would be "unavailable to testify." That same afternoon, Paxton's defense attorney made a motion for a directed verdict in the trial.
