Hurricane Francine is expected to make landfall Wednesday as it approaches the northern Gulf Coast. The National Hurricane Center is also tracking four other tropical disturbances in the Atlantic basin, according to the latest advisory.
Francine is a strong Category 1 storm as of 7 a.m. CDT, with maximum sustained winds of 90 mph. As it maintains these wind speeds, Francine is now expected to remain a Category 1 storm with little change in strength when it makes landfall late Wednesday afternoon or evening.
