At the press conference, he discussed Trump's plans for tariffs, mass deportation as well as other plans that would affect border communities and migrants.
Newsom also announced plans o enhance border security and the opening of a new border crossing. He said plans for the Otay Mesa East Port of Entry will be formalized before the end of 2024, with hopes for completion before 2028.
