Public officials in Texas have faced questions about whether they could have been more warnings ahead of powerful Texas flooding. Kern County Sheriff Larry Leitha and Kerrville mayor Dalton Rice were all pressed by reporters on the topic at a press conference.

Leitha declined to respond directly when asked how long it took for officials to respond to "Code Red" alerts about the flash floods, but said a full analysis will come later.

"We will answer those questions," he said. "I can't tell you when - a week or two, okay? We're going to get to them. We're not trying to deflect them."
