Ideology = Insanity but Insanity =/= Ideology

Everyday it seems there is some new person being called a lone wolf with mental issues after he or she commits a heinous act of violence. As skeptics (tm) we need be aware that mental health is, in fact, a major problem when it comes to repugnant destruction of human life, despite the fact that it is sometimes easier to attribute these acts on ideology, given that we are used to assessing ideologically-driven violence, such as that coming from Islamic origins. Given the extreme rhetoric coming from the left in recent months, it also is no question why one would be quick to suggest the media could be blamed for an increase in leftist aggressive action; however, I must, from my perspective as a social scientist, explicate the complexity of all these issues, as I do here.
