This act was committed by a self-proclaimed incel, involuntary celibate, and the media has been quick to label incels, as a group, as harmful in nature. Let's just say I am become skeptical™ of this generalization. First, I describe why incel may exist in the first place, but further, I took a look at the psychology of loneliness and isolation to understand how prolonged lack of human contact affects the psyche, the body, and ones social abilities. What I found was, frankly, harrowing.
