The panel discussed the proposed cop training development known as Cop City, the recent murder of Cop City protestor Manuel "Tortuguita" Teran by the police, the murder of Tyre Nichols and debates over whether "racism" could have played a role in the killing of a black man by black police officers. The panel then debated the utility of framing criminal justice reform as a "black" issue, the failures of the Biden administration's criminal justice efforts, and the role black mayors play in affirming the status quo.
