Say farewell to the tyranny of ironing for ever!
Derek Cooper reports on a new manufacturing technique which allows suits to be washed and drip dried, then re-worn without ever needing to be ironed. The fabric is first dipped in 'shape-setting' chemicals before being made into garments, which are pressed at a high temperature and baked in an oven to re-activate the aforementioned shape-setting properties.
BBC Archive does not recommend washing your clothes in a car wash - but if you must, please don't get the hot wax.
