Iraq's Prime Minister has told the BBC the existential threat posed to Iraq from Islamic State fighters is not gone - but that the threat has been "controlled and contained" in areas where Iraqi forces are now fighting. Speaking exclusively to BBC Arabic and BBC World News, Haider Al Abadi told Lyse Doucet US and Iraqi air strikes had intensified in the past week, and were making a difference, but that the existential threat to Iraq had not gone away.
