Footage from the Toronto Globe and Mail shows bullets being fired inside the Canadian parliament building, in Ottawa.
Witnesses earlier reported seeing a gunman shooting at the Ottawa War Memorial and then running toward the government buildings, where more shots were heard.
A soldier has reportedly been wounded in the attack.
