A commission set up by the agency, WADA, also recommended the governing body of athletics, IAAF impose lifetime bans on five Russian runners and five coaches. It said that the London 2012 Olympics had been sabotaged by Russian athletes. The international police agency Interpol said it would coordinate a global investigation into corruption in athletics. Last week, French prosecutors accused the former president of the sport's governing body of being involved in the scandal. (He was alleged to have taken bribes to cover up doping cases, mainly in Russia. )
