2:39Now PlayingAmerican voters have had their first say in who they want to become the next President of their country - and the small mid-western state of Iowa has thrown up a raft of surprises. The Republican race threw up a clear winner in Ted Cruz. But his 28 percent share of the vote suggests the race is a long way from over, especially given the 24 percent tally won by Donald Trump. There was also a strong showing by Marco Rubio, who took 23 percent -- who some say was the"real winner" of the night. For the Democrats, the picture is far less clear. There's hardly anything to separate Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, although it looks like Clinton will emerge with the narrowest of victory margins. Their only other rival, Martin O'Malley, took hardly any of the vote, and has suspended his campaign.
