Sir Richard Dearlove said the EU's response has been hesitant and unsure -- and what he called a "massive European response" was probably the only answer to the problem. In a speech at the BBC, he said the EU's decision to offer free visas to tens of millions of Turkish citizens, as part of a deal to reduce the number of migrants, was perverse -- and akin to storing petrol next to a fire you were trying to put out.
