From 19 December, 38 million people will be living under tier 3 restrictions in England – that’s 68 per cent of the country’s population.
Northern Ireland will face a six-week lockdown from 26 December, after Wales announced a tier 4 lockdown from 28 December yesterday.
Today Chancellor Rishi Sunak confirmed he has extended the furlough scheme for one month until the end of April next year.
